Grêmio now awaits the winner of the match between Athletico Paranaense and Ponte Preta to determine their opponent in the round of 16. The competition, considered the biggest youth soccer tournament in the country, has seen illustrious Brazilian clubs take home the championship title. Corinthians holds the record with 10 titles, followed by Internacional and Fluminense, both with five titles. São Paulo, with four victories, also ranks among the most successful teams in the Copinha.
The competition follows the standard regulations, with groups composed of four teams playing in a single round-robin format in the initial phase. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stages leading up to the final, which is scheduled for January 25th, coinciding with São Paulo’s anniversary.
