A young man was killed in Paranhos, Brazil where he lived with his family. The victim, Igor Tavares, was a member of a group called Ginasloucos at the University Center of Grande Dourados, which combines acrobatic gymnastics and basketball. Igor was tragically shot five times by a hooded gunman, with four of the shots hitting his back and one in the neck.
His father, Élio, emotionally recounted the impact Igor’s death had on the family and the entire city, describing him as an incredible human being who was dedicated to his work and the sport that he loved. Igor’s dream was to set up a sports arena in the city, and his father shared that he was very passionate about this project.
Élio mentioned that he was unaware of any motive behind the crime, as Igor never mentioned any disputes with anyone. The case is currently under investigation by the police in Paranhos, but no information has been released about any suspects.
Igor, a 26-year-old physical education teacher and member of Ginasloucos, was a part of the acrobatics group that gained national recognition after appearing on television programs, such as Ana Maria Braga’s show on Rede Globo.
Igor was killed during a gathering at a house in the Vila Nova neighborhood of Paranhos. The gunman also injured two other individuals, aged 23 and 28, who were taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Ponta Porã for further medical treatment. One was shot in the hand, and the other in the arm.
