Luis Gustavo Bello Nunes, a 19-year-old student from Campo Grande, achieved the highest score nationwide in the subject of Math in last year’s National High School Exam (Enem). His score was 958.6, which demonstrates his dedication and hard work in his studies. Luis also scored 920 in the essay portion of the exam, coming very close to a perfect score.
Luis has been studying for four years to pursue a career in Medicine, and his success on the exam has motivated him to continue on this path. He emphasizes that it takes more than just a liking for a subject to excel in it, and that dedication and hard work are crucial.
The student attributes part of his success to the help of Math teacher Elias Daniel, who also expressed happiness at their shared accomplishment. Elias believes that hyperfocus and discipline were key factors in Luis’s outstanding performance, and pointed out that the difficulty in understanding Math is often related to the abstract nature of the subject.
Elias encourages students to work on developing emotional control and to practice solving previous exam questions, as the Enem is not only a test of knowledge but also a test of endurance. He recommends applying Math to practical, everyday situations and emphasizes the importance of practicing exercises as the most effective study technique.
